Unimatic Modello Uno U1-B Minimalist Dive Watch 3D Model and Render
The subject of this personal project is one of my favourite minimalist watch designs. The Italian-made U1-B was a limited edition, with only two hundred made. It features a high readability black dial with a maxi marker in Super-LumiNova® old radium lume matching the pearl on the black aluminium bezel insert and graphic trims. The brushed 316 stainless steel is topped with a double-domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
I modelled and textured everything in Modo using sourced photo references. I explored several band materials, including leather and woven nylon. Final rendering was done with Modo's new mPath engine at 4K resolution. There's some contrast adjustment in Photoshop, but otherwise, renders are straight out of Modo.

I created the woven nylon Nato style strap texture by modelling the detailed weave and baking out displacement, normal and weave masks. This enabled me to create a high quality texture and independently colour threads.
